What is the name of your state? PA

Good afternoon, I've been smelling a foul odor coming from my basement for the past week. It smells like rotten egg or sulphur. Also I hear running water coming from the basement and I have 3 or 4 leaks coming from the ceiling in my bathroom. I called the building manager 3 times, including today. He told me Saturday, he would come by. He told me today he would come by. I still haven't seen or heard from him. I'm tired of dealing with his ignorant A$$ & really want to know if there are any loopholes in leases that would allow me to leave before it's up in July? Can I fax you a copy of my lease? Thanks in advance.

Have you given any WRITTEN notification about the problems you are experiencing? You will need to start there.

**A: call the building department and state dept. of health and request investigation.
And no you can't fax a copy of your lease.

Tired of being tired...

I knew you were going to say start with a letter. I guess there are just steps that have to be taken. His attitude stinks & I was just looking for a way to not have to deal with him any longer. I like the idea of calling license & inspections also. Thanks

Leaking roof/ceiling is a code violation. However you are going to want to have record of your giving him WRITTEN notice of the problem (certified mail) and give him a reasonable time to get it looked at if not fixed. If you still have not heard anything say a week after he receives your letter, then call the housing inspector. They will kick him in the rear to get it up to code.

Being vindictive will not help your cause. Follow the proper channels to get the repairs completed that are necessary so that you can ENJOY your home. Trust me, I am sure your LL wants you to be happy so you don't bother him, just as you want to happy so you don't have to call him.

PS: Sulfer can be due to stagnant musty water...it might not be harmful, but daggumit it stinks...
