I used somebody elses credit card to pay college fees. I submitted this information on a registration form which a clerk offered to pass to the accounts dept . We agreed verbally with the credit card holder that I would give him the cash and the college would withdraw the money. Unfortunately the clerk lost my form so according to the college, I owe them money! Now the guy whose credit card we used will not talk to me but I know he admitted having signed the form. What should I do?

Looks like you're going to have to 'pony-up' the money from somewhere. It sounds from your post that someone was going to loan or give you the funds for college by letting you charge them to his credit card. He apparently has had a change of heart and you now need to find another source of funds.

If you are asking if you have a cause of action against the 'almost lender', in my opinion you really don't. And even if you could claim a breach, you would have a very hard time trying to prove that an agreement ever existed since it was never in writing.
