I rented an apartment from a property manager for 1 year. I had moved in with a freind whos roommate could not stay there .I paid for a credit check and was approved .The managers said I could fill out the lease later, but move in now.after a few months the mngmnt co called us to come in and both fill out a new lease. We did and they said they would send it to us later. I move in and live at this addresss for a year. one day I pay the old mngmnt co. My rent as usual I go to the office and its closed early so I leave the money orders in the mail slot of their office . I have no rent receipe but I have the money order receipt which has not been cashed. I get notice on the door to pay or quit with the names of the prior tennats but not my name .I call the mngmnt co and they say throw the notice away cause thay had my money orders. Well the eviction is going through anyways and the new owner is not very understanding and wants me out. I have filing the answer for the complaint and think I can beat the eviction . Is the Old property manger liable in ne way for the damage done or for the attorney's cost in fighting the the eviction> I have some reciepts for rent and for moneyorders
paid to the old mngmnt co. I am on a fixed income and would appreceate any advice or help
