What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Louisiana

I am looking for someone whom has knowledge about the Louisiana dyslexia law. Can anyone help? I'm meeting with the principal of my child's school tomorrow and I have questions about the law!

would this fall under educational law? or disability law?

it i'm not mistaken, there isn't a dyslexia law per se.

maybe if you were tad bit more detailed on what you are trying to convey to the principal, we'd have a wider circle of information to help you with.

I think that's what she means. Could be wrong.

As the law states

My question is this... once my daughter has been tested. (which she already has been privately, but the school insist upon retesting, which is fine with me.) What exactly are they required to provide for my child. If I am reading this law correctly, are they required to provide a "multisensory structured language program"?

Am I reading that correctly?

In my opinion, yes, you are reading it correctly.

One key is that, legally, the word, "SHALL," means that IT WILL BE THUS.

The word, "MAY," means, it could be, might be, if you want to, if it doesn't bother you much.

That document uses the word "SHALL" regarding services they are to provide. Based on that, and a quick reading, I agree with you.
