I live in Delaware.
After 6 months I made it to the investigation stage on my own. I had to produce evidence to have the preliminary finding's, initial recommendation of dismissal overturned. There is now a further investigation notice. My claims which are all supported by evidence are sexual discrimination, religious discrimination and retaliation. I was sexually harassed by being hit firmly on the butt by a supervisor. I have evidence that he was not disciplined according to policy.I was also harassed because of my religion by a coworker and my immediate supervisor. My supervisor/HR altered my attendance record and tried to have me fired after I complained to upper management. When I presented a grievance about this, I was terminated citing position elimination. I was 4 months pregnant when I was fired. My question is, if the company offers a settlement amount what should I accept? I believe I have a strong case with likelihood of punitive damages being issued at a jury trial if it goes that far? I know I am not willing to settle for the 100K harassment insurance I have evidence the owner obtained around the time I was let go. I have not had an attorney as of this point because of the cost.I would appreciate any intelligent opinions and suggestions. Thanks..
