What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Md
Good evening I'm on probation for a year due to DUI. I have to attend a treatment program. I'm supposed to be having knee surgery next month. If I'm recovering & not able to go to my weekly treatment program, will I have to make up the time I missed once I'm able to get around? Will I be excused & not expected to make up the missed meetings? Or should I postpone my surgery until I go back to court again in August when my year is up? Thanks in advance.

Every program has it's own policies. You will have to ask this question to someone who works within the program. goodluck

Thank you.
I have a probation order under 18 u.s.c 3607
Defendant's Consent...2nd paragraph reads,
I also understand that, if I have not violated any condition of my probation, the court, without entering a judgement of conviction, (1) may dismiss the proceedings and discharge me from probation before the expiration of the term of probation, or (2) must dismiss the proceedings and discharge me from probation at the expiration of the term of probation.
Can you please clarify what this means?

It means that if you are very good while on probation that

1) The judge might let you off probation early, and

2) The judge has to let you off probation after your term ends.

I think that it's unlikely that you will not need to complete your treatment program because of a surgical procedure. Have you run your plans by your probation officer? I fear that if you stop attending that you'll need to start over.
