What is the name of your state?Texas

I am married to my husband by common law for three years. HIS his mom and two sister never like me from the begining, just because He has started a life with me. It has gotten worse, dealing with them. to the point that they have said I killed my father (but died of natural causes). Then they recently faxed a letter to my apartment management saying that I have a history assaulting one of the sisters and that my husband neglects his mother. They have threated to kill my dog.and then they even said I stole my own dog from them and if i don't give them the dog or $500.00 dollars that i will be sorry. I found out that the recently called the police stating everything said above. What do I do. I have file a harrassment report already about the situation, but I'm scared that they might come up the more stuff till one day I end up in jail for something i never did..please help

There is much more to the story. What has hubby done to straighten out his mom and sisters?

bad blood in the neighborhood

Ma'am: Most of the posts on this forum require some sort of legal advice. An almost equal (greater?) amount require a good dose of common sense along with the law advice. Often, the common sense advice precludes the need for law advice. Because your dog can't call the police, you should if you feel the threats are real. Be aware that the police deal with facts, not emotions. Be prepared to give them specifics. However, as the previous poster noted, there appears to be more going on than was stated. What is your husbands position on all this? If he can't control his own kin's disturbing actions towards someone he supposedly loves and cherishes (you, and probably the dog too), you need to have a sit down with him. Good luck
