dr prescribed pain killers for heart attack
last october i went to the emergency room with severe chest pain and pressure. they did 1 ekg which came back normal and they released me saying it was indigestion. later that afternoon, i went to my doctor who had another ekg done which came back abnormal. he said he wasn't concerned because i am a 48 year old female with no prior heart problems, and sent me home with a prscription for pain pills. the next morning the pain was so severe i again was transported to the er by paramedics. this time they did 2 ekg's which both showed m/i. they had to air evac me to another hospital to do the stent implants. isn't it standard practice to do 2 ekg's as the first one always comes back normal? this is what i have been told. due to the length of time i was having the heart attack, the whole front part of my heart was damaged. do you think i have a case against either the hospital or my doctor or both? i live in arizona. thanks, mary
