My niece Lives in Califorina she was had a lump on her breast for a year. The female doctor she had pretty muched ignored it. She ended up having cancer in fifteen nypnoids of the eighteen nypoids that were removed. Now three years later at the great age of 32. She
now has cancer in her lungs, her spine, and still testing whether it is skull or brain cancer. She had been complaining about headaches for a year now. She had filed a malpractice suit for the breast cancer. Do to
the fact that she used the wrong word the Doctor who ignored the signs becuase she was to young to have breast cancer. Walked away with out having to pay a penny to her or her three young children. Once again because a doctor did not take the time to listen to her she is where she is at today. You can't even have a converstion with her on the phone because her head hurts her so bad.Is there any way that this first doctor and the second could be sued for malpractice, and even the H.M.O..Reading some of the other letters posted I sure am happy I live in Michigan where are Doctors seem to take care of us instead of saying your to young and treat a lump in the breast as no more then a boil. Where will these Doctors be when her three young children need there mom.

What am I missing? You already said that she filed a lawsuit for the breast cancer. Is that not the first doctor?

If not, she had better get to a lawyer who specializes in med. mal. claims today, if not sooner. She has 2 concerns: 1 - the statute of limitations may be rigth around the corner, and 2- she has a serious illness that may greatly shorten her life. Get to a lawyer now to determine if she has a claim.

Yes she did have a lawyer. My niece gets
upset when she is under presure. When telling her side of finding the lump and the process she went through before this doctor would send her to any one else. She had said the lump moved. The doctors attorneys then jumped on that saying lumps don't move. So this doctor walked away with out even having her hand slapped. This doctor treated the lump for one year with a cream of some kind. When this doctor finally sent her to a ob/gyn. He did a needle test on the lump and sent her to a surgeon right away. I want this first doctor
to be responible for treatment. Yes she does need to hire a lawyer but I would like to see this first doctor brought back in to the suit.Where do you find a good lawyer when you have limited funds. And they have all the big money behind them . Then do we have rights as her family to get involved? Can we have a seperate law suit to go after these doctor's.?

I really do not understand what happened. If there was a lawsuit against the first doctor, what happened to that case? And when was it that your niece said that the lump moved? What about the medical records? What did they say?

Since I do not understand, rather than say something based on a misunderstanding, my closing thought it as follows: if you feel there is a case, you need to find a lawyer right away. Ask friends, family, check this web site (www.attorneypages.com) and find yourself a lawyer. Good luck
