What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada

I'm in the process of looking for a new apartment. I have been reading reviews for some places I'm interested in. I have noticed that a lot of people seem to complain about security issues with their complex, i.e., broken gate, cars broken into, etc. Is it possible to sue the management company for lack of security? Is the management company of the apartment complex responsible for some security? Or are they only responsible if the lease states they are?

When a rental unit is advertised as having a certain number of security features that go with it its not likely a lease would offer alot of details pertaining to the security features, like say a gated , fenced parking area for example still will not come with promises from a LL that there will never be car theft or break in and if you rented somewhere and security features failed it would be up to tenants to prove a LL is responsible for acts of others.

Not many landlords are foolish enough to brag about or promote their security system for the purpose of renting. Tenants are sure to jump at the chance of a successful lawsuit. Heck, some may even arrange a breakin for the chance of some free cash.
