What is the name of your state? Minnesota

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but my place of employment is requiring everyone to take a blood test as part of a health risk assessment. If someone refuses to take the test their insurance will be canceled. They say that the insurance company and my place of employment will not receive the results of the blood test but only a overview of where they could make improvements. My main question is if it is legal for them to require this with the punishment of having the insurance canceled. Thank you for your time.

They say its a general blood test everything from testing cholesterol to other preexisting conditions. Its for the employee to know so that if there are any problems they can address them before there is a major problem. If this is to vague i can try to get more information from the 3rd party that will be administering the test but from what they have told us it is just a health based test not a drug test.

Take the test.

They are not required to offer health benefits.

I think this is shady, and Stalinistic even.

But you have little recourse.

Other than the recourse every dissatisfied worker has. Drop your productivity.

Alright thats kind of what i was thinking the answer would be. It doesn't bother me so much but there is quite an outcry from the rest of the people i work with even more so from their spouses that are also required to get the test. Thanks for your time.

There is this other thing that workers can do...

It's called unionize.

If you are already in a union... they should be breaking their neck to get around this crap.

If you don't have a union. Well, don't look at me. You can get it done.

from the reason that they have given me its has to do a lot with the age range of people that work there we have people from 18-90's working. They say that we have an abnormally high amount of people with medical conditions that could have been prevented if found early. They "say" none of the personal information will be given to the employer or the insurance company. They also say that they are using the cancellation of insurance because of a previous program for getting physicals did not get the turn out they had hoped.

There is absolutely no reason why a casino cannot unionize. Oodles of casinos are union shops.

Even 'sovereign' ones.

One word

Foxwoods.
