I just found out that my employer ended my health insurance benefits because i went below the amount of hours needed to continue my coverage. The only problem is that she didn't inform me of the terminated coverage and i only found out because i got a COBRA letter in the mail. Isn't it illegal to end the benefits without some kind of notice besides a mailed letter from COBRA?

No, there is no such law.

In any case, you knew how many hours were required for coverage and you knew you hadn't worked them. What did you expect was going to happen?
