If my fiance and I reside in California but want to get married in Florida (with a Florida marriage license), would we still be considered under the same laws that married people go by in California? In other words, community property and divorce laws?

My response:

It makes very little difference where you are married, as long as you satisfy the legal requirements of the State in which you are married.

When you move to another State, and once you satisfy the residency requirements of that new State, your marriage is then guided by the laws in that State.
