What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

My son is military.

He married a girl here in CA, was here for about a week, then he had to report back to his command in NC.

They have been married 3 months.

She stayed here and she has never lived with him.

he is deploying for training (only for about 5 wks), but has expressed to me that she doesn't call him, she is texting / talking to a guy for hours every night (I did verify via his cell ph bill), and she says that she's not going to change... he can't tell her what to do or be friends with ect....poor guy has seriously tried to work things out but she won't quit talking to other men, so he is considering... divorce.. (so sad)

I'm pretty sure he is thinking divorce, but I have a few questions.

1. does he file here in CA or over in NC? He's actually been in NC for 9 mos.

2. No annulmen I'm sure?

3. How long will a divorce take? (I know about CA).

4. is there anything that can be done since he's only been married 3 mos?

thanks for your help

Hard for him to really be trying to work things out from thousands of miles away.

She's absolutely right that he can't tell her who to be friends with or talk to. Best he can do is try to make her WANT to talk to him, which he doesn't seem to be doing right now. How long was he dating this girl before marrying her?

There won't be time for him to do much before he deploys. When he gets back he can talk to a lawyer.
