Married less than one year divorce procedures still the same?

If someone in Massachusettes has been married for 8 months and incarcerated for most of those months would the divorce procedures still be the same? There are no children and there is no property involved. How would they begin the produres since the other party does not want the divorce?
Does the length of the "marrige" make a difference?
