What is the name of your state? Ky

My girlfriend met a man on the internet who lived within 2 hours of her house. Everything was going great, he brought her lovely flowers courted her in the most decent manner then she found out he was married. She is terribly upset over all this, she cared deeply and everything he told her was a lie, she said maybe it wouldn't had been so bad if she had not went to bed with him. She has had to go speak with her councilor about this several times now and she was talking about suing him for disstress, so I thought I would get on here and see what you people have to say. Please try and be understanding about this, she had no idea and she is a very nice lady.

Thanks

My thought is this:

HELLO!

Tell her I said, "Welcome to the internet".

C'mon! She took up with a guy she met on the internet. Did she actually believe he was going to be truthful with her?

How much research did she even attempt to do on the guy before she met him? Did he let her call him at work? Give her his home phone number? His home address? Did she FIRST, before going anywhere near the guy, try to verify who and what he was and run a check to see if he was on the sexual predator registry?

Frankly, there are worse things that a stranger on the internet can be other than married.
