Hi, I'm in CA

I'm currently shopping around for family law attorneys. When I find an attorney usually check to see their Martindale Hubbell rating. Now, I know this book isn't supposed to really be used by the general public, only attorneys. So, my question is...should I use it? Does it mean anything? Are AV ratings really hard to get? Is CV really bad? Does it even matter? Also, if I find an attorney who's on the Bar Register of preeminent attorneys for Family Law. Is that really good? What are the requirements to be on the Bar Register of preeminent attorneys? Advice from any attorneys or anyone who knows anything about this is greatly appreciated. Does anyone know a good source to find a great Family Law Attorney? Thanks!
