What is the name of your state? Maryland
I was recently "let go" (their words) from a small title company.
After packing up my desk, I asked if I could view my employee file.
This request was denied.
I wasn't planning on taking the file with me, I just wanted to look through it before I left.
Legally, should I have been permitted to look through my file ?
Thank youWhat is the name of your state?

Although there are some states where the employee has the absolute right to review their file, MD is not one of them - at least, not unconditionally. If you are a public employee, you have that right in MD, but if you work for a private employer, it is up to your employer whether or not to permit it.
