What is the name of your state? NC
Hello, I worked for this really really mean boss. She treated all of her staff very poorly, it was like walking on eggshells. She periodically called me names, belittled me in-front of clients and other staff. One day, she decided that I was "too stupid" to work for her because I didn't charge one of her customers the correct amount (it was my second time registering someone-up, I was still very new). She called me up on the phone the next day and told me not to bother coming in, I asked her why and she said because I wasn't intelligent enough to work for her, she fired me. I was so distraught over the treatment of this woman, I went onto YAHOO local! business reviews (where there are already many negative posts against her), I posted a blurb that said "She was sort of mean for a professional" and I posted another blurb that raved about her competition and they were much nicer than her. I think she might sue me for libel. Does she have a good chance to sue me? Do I have a good chance to counter-sue?

Nothing prevents someone, anyone, from suing, however, given what you have posted here, I do not see her winning any defamation lawsuit against you. What you posted online is "opinion" and opinion is a protected form of free speech.

You have no winnable suit here, either. It is legal to be mean.
