our company conducts home inspections for insurance companys. we use independent contractors to conduct the inspections and we have a dispute with one of them. he has threatened to file mechanic's liens on the homes he has inspected. the homeowner did not contract his services. can he file a legal mechanic's lien in the state of texas? gforce

I am not sure. In some States only licensed contractors can file liens.
