What is the name of your state? Washington State

In 2001, my son broke his finger in school gym class. We went to the local Urgent Care who told us it was broken. Today, in 2004, I have received two collection "one time offer" letters from Sentry Credit demanding I pay their offer of 60% of the original debt. Between the two letters, it is in the amt of $2165.48 due by 10/29. I never thought to report this to the school insurance as a liability claim and I fear that the statute has probably run out. Is there a statute of limitation for the collection? Should I contact the CA? This is the first time I have heard from this CA. The bills is far higher than the original bill and does not include whatever charges or interest may have been added by the CA. Thank you for your opinion.
