What is the name of your state? KS

I need suggestions. I had a medical bill from October that I was disputing with my doctor. I sent a letter to them outlining my issue, which was valid, because I checked with my health insurance and also filed a complaint with them of how my doctor who was in my network chose not to tell me that a $2000 procedure would not be "in network". Instead of acknowleging my letter or numerous phone calls, their billing department sent me to a collections agency who was very aggressive and abusive towards me.

I again advised them of the dispute and sent them a copy of the letter sent to my doctor prior to them sending me to the collection agency. Again, the agency disregarded this dispute and reported me as 120 days + to the credit bureaus, but not before I paid the bill to the doctor's office because I was afraid that is exactly what they would do. I have since moved to Florida, and have made numerous phone calls to both the doctor's office, collection agency, and sent certified letters to them threatening to report them to the State Attorney's office of Kansas to no avail for violating my rights under the FCRA.....that being that they did not acknowledge my dispute and when they reported me, I had already paid and they did not report that I was disputing the balance, all of which are violations. They do not seem to be bothered my threats of taking them to the State Atty's office. I am in the credit field and work now for a large bank as an assistant vp and they knew my field was in credit/collections because I told them when they were being abusive that I knew my rights with my 13 years experience, yet again nothing bothers them!!

My question is.... besides going to the state atty's office, do you have any other suggestions to get this straightened out? They won't return calls, won't respond to my letters and have what I feel blatantly and maliciously tried to negatively impact my credit. I have since been denied credit, auto insurance and I almost did not get this new job at my present employer because of what they have reported. Otherwise my credit is spotless with a FICO of over 700.

Any help would be appreciated...I think because I've been in the field so long on the creditor's side, that I have lost the ability to know my rights as a debtor.....??? Thank you for any suggestions you can provide.
