I was hoping to get some advice following my recent writing of the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test). Due to some technical difficulties my test did not start until 1.5 hours after the original start time. Also, during the test my computer froze 4-5 times and significantly reduced the amount of time I had to complete some parts of the exam (i.e. I was unable to complete the essay portion of the exam).

I spoke with the people at the MCAT office. Apparently, all that they can do is issue a letter to medical schools I apply to verifying that my testing environment was altered. It’s very frustrating because many of the medical schools require applicants to meet certain MCAT score cut offs. If I don’t meet these cut offs, due to the altered testing environment, this letter issued by the MCAT office will have little effect in improving my chances of getting into a medical program. I could write the exam again, but a few of the schools I have applied to will only consider April MCAT scores (and there are no more MCAT sittings this month). In addition, I have made many sacrifices during the past couple years to write this test and I have plans to return to school this summer. Considering my recent MCAT performance was limited due to the testing environment I don’t think I should have to make continued sacrifices this summer to write the MCAT again.

Sorry for the long winded explanation :p , but does anyone have any suggestion in how should I proceed with this situation?

Thanks in advance :) .
