What is the name of your state? CA

My wife had a c-section with our first baby. The doctors noted in the post operative report that she had a problem with her uterus. We did not see the report until this last week. My wife asked her doctor after the c-section if she would be able to delivery naturaly if she got pregnate again. The doctor told her that she would have no problems delivering natural because no problems were found during the operation, ( which is where he lied). Her regular doctor did not preform the operation because he was on vacation at the time. The doctor that proformed the operation did not mention anything to me or my wife either. My wife is pregant and just found out that there is no way she will be able to deliver naturally due to this problem. The problem could even be life threatening to her and the baby. It is only by God's grace that they are both doing good. My wife spoke to another doctor off the record who said that with the problem that my wife has she should not have even gotten pregnate a second time. It has been 7 years since my wife saw the doctors that lied to her.

I don't know what to think. Are the doctors supposed to tell the patient about conditions they find? Which doctor was supposed to tell her was it the doctor who preformed the operation or her regular doctor who she saw 2 weeks after the operation? Is there a way to hold them responsable?
My wife is very upset and so am I, but we don't know what to do.

Thanks for any advice.

Is there a reason you're not asking this question on the medical malpractice board?

I HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. I HAD TO HAVE AN EMERGENCY C-SECTION WITH MY FIRST CHILD. WHEN I BECAME PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND, MY OB GYN TOLD ME I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DELIVER "NORMALLY". HOWEVER, IN THE 7TH MONTH, HE ADVISED THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE A C-SECTION WITH THIS ONE TOO, NOT ONLY BC OF THE PROBLEMS I HAD WITH MY UTERUS, BUT ALSO DUE TO THE RISK OF THE OLD SCAR TEARING DURING LABOR. ACCORDING TO MY OB GYN, THERE IS A 25% CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING. HOWEVER, IF IT DOES HAPPEN THERE IS A 60% CHANCE THAT THE BABY WOULD DIE DUE TO THE AUTOMATIC CUTOFF OF BLOOD AND OXYGEN IF THE OLD SCAR WAS TO TEAR. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS FRUSTRATING. IF MOM AND BABY ARE DOING FINE, THEN I WOULD FOCUS ON THAT AND ENJOY YOUR PREGNANCY. IT IS STRESSFUL ENOUGH WITHOUT HAVING ADDED DRAMA.

GOOD LUCK

So for the past 7 years, your wife never discussed with her gynocologist about a second pregnancy and natural childbirth or, more importantly, that your wife should not be getting pregnant again?

my wife discussed it with her old dr. who told her she would have no problems trying for a natural delivery. She took him at his word. He lied to her. We thought that she would be able to delivery naturally and so we got pregnate again. She is is good health and so am I what reason would we have had to discuss problems with her current dr. when we did not know there was a problem.

I will check out those sites. I don't know if we are going to sue or not we just want to know our options.

sorry, next time I'll look for the medical malpractice board longer.
