I just recently underwent a hysterectomy in which my current GYN removed what he thought to be endometreosis but when the report came back from pathology the report said and I quote that is was a "severe foreign body", meaning that is was something that was not suppose to be there. I discussed this with my doctor and he says the only way for a foreign body to have been found in my abdominal cavity is for it to have been left there during a previous surgery. Which in this case would be a C-section I had nine years ago! I have suffered chronic pain over the years and was told by my previous GYN, the one who performed the C-section, that he could find nothing physically wrong with me that I needed to consider the possibility it may be physcological. Basically the pain was all in my head! My question is this, could this be considered a case of negligence. Would I need to know for sure what the foreign body was. The path report does not say what the foreign body was only that is was indeed foreign. If you need further info please ask and thank you for any advice you can give.

Yes it is important to find out what that foreign matter is. Be assertive and try to get all the information on that. What was it? What did they do with it? If they threw it out, why? How did it get in your body?

You will probably want to speak with an attorney that handles medical malpractice suits. You should be able to find one at attorneypages.com.
