What is the name of your state? NC
hello,

i am on ssdi. back in 01/07 i had medicare discontinue my part b medicare, because i needed the money to pay a very high monthly mortgage rate. during 2007 i managed to get my credit straightened out, and refinanced, and now have an affordable monthly mortage payment. i knew when i opted out of part b medicare, that in order to reinstate my part b ins, i would have to pay an extra 10% to 20% of the anual $96 a month premium. and i have to pay this ever month, forever! its not a one shot deal!!! is there some way i can claim a hardship case and have this penalty waved? i only did this because it was rather opt out of part b medicare, or lose my house! this is insane to penalize people on disability, just because they are trying to make ends meet!...bob
