What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York
My union is having a special order of business during a regular meeting. At the same time, some companies are working a second shift, which would keep them from going. Also, apprentices are in their apprenticeship related classes at that time and are counted as absent if they go, meaning making up the class and paying money. The union constitution says nothing about meetings having to be at a time when second shift workers or apprentices can attend and does not allow absentee voting. Is a motion to table the vote (I think that's the term) to a day such as Saturday my only option?, or does Robert's rules (we also follow these rules) have a section governing the time for meetings in regards to people who are working/at school and can't attend at the time?
