colorado, i have a tattoo that i had done in 1992 on my left bicep. the tattoo ink the f.d.a. approved contained mercury in the rea tattoo ink. when i go out in the heat my tattoo swells as does mercury rise, it becomes painful and lasts a few days at a time. is there any lawsuits over this type of thing or can it be done? thank you, brandi

In My Opinion

Hello Brandi

You may not have any legal recourse in this situation. Since the F.D.A. had approved of mercury being used during the time period you had the tattoo done, mercury was legal. Therefore, I highly doubt you have any recourse.

Consider the fact that you choose to have this tattoo. Also that during that time period mercury was approved. Therefore, it now may be your responsibilty to have the tatoo removed at your expense.

About the only alternate option you may have is to inquired if there is or where any legal decision {precedence} to have tatto's removed, do to mercury contained within the ink used, at the expense of another person, company or agency.

Regards and Good Luck.
