What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? KS
On May 6th I was at a party out of City limits. Sheriff's come to the door and ask the owner to keep the party down. For some reason he decides to run a warrant check on the owner of the house and it turns out he did in fact have a warrant. They hand cuff him and take him to jail.
There is two different rooms in the house, the main room with about 10 people, and a sub-room with about 15 people. After arresting the owner the sherrif walks into the house and says everyone in the main room "looks 21" and is allowed to go, without any confirmation of age from a license. There is clearly alcohol present.
The sheriff then proceeds to walk into the sub-room and sees all of us, majority are minors. He proceeds to breathalyze all of us some of us fail and are issued a ticket with a court date.
I'm trying to get off this ticket on prejudice because he let half the people go and made the rest of us blow. As well as the fact that we were kept there after the owner was arrested, which I've been told you aren't allowed to do either. And also the fact that he did not run any of us for warrants.
My main hope here is the prejudice argument.
