What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oklahoma
rented this house from a leasing company sight unseen due to quick job transfer, moved to this specific house due to great schools.
Never late on rent, cannot find any loop holes in our lease agreement.
Complained about dead animal smell in walls and mice problem in Oct. End of Jan owner finally agreed to pay for exterminator.
They say its bad, holes in outside siding of the house are letting in birds mice and the attic is covered in urine and feces, making my two son's room stink constantly.
Exterminators put out poison bait and now mice are dying inside my house where my kids and dogs can get to them. Poison was described to "eat the mice from the inside out" which means this could harm or even kill my kids or dogs.
A lady from the leasing company came out after we asked to get out of our lease and took pictures of several holes on the interior where the mice are getting in an several pictures of the feces getting into our personal possessions
problem #1 i do not want anymore poisoned dead mice in my childrens/dogs reach, and thats all the owner is willing to pay for
#2: The siding on the house has been measured 3 times in the last 7 months, two of which were some random man just showing up out of the blue without warning, no uniform or work truck, just some guy. We only have two months left on our lease, IF the siding does get fixed i dont want to be here during construction
#3 The exterminators told me directly that nothing will change until the attic is cleaned or power washed out and all holes are fixed inside and outside the house, the poison is just killing what is there till more show up or breed

The leasing company told us our only option is to present this info to the owner and let him decide. Is this true? Is there a way out without taking serious legal action? I cant find any laws on infestation for rental properties.

As a parent...Just move. Take pictures and video of the issues and make sure you keep all written contact that you have...ie...letters, notices and such.
