i live in the state of Nebraska, my husband is military and our legal state of residence according to military law is Mo. We both hold Mo drivers lic. I work in this state and we have 2 children born in this state. He is currently on a remote overseas. while he was back on leave he filed for a divorce in Mo. I have been told that Missouri has no juristiction over our children and can not award custody or child support since they are legal residents of Ne. I have also been told it was illegal to file in Mo as that is only for military purposes. he claimed he had been livin with us for the required 90 days prior to filing but has been overseas for over 6 months. He is also trying to take the children away from me without any valid reasoning. I have done nothing wrong at all in this marriage, but he has. a week prior to him filing i had made a police report for him hitting me and some other things. he has supposedly stopped the proceedings in Mo but i do not trust him and do not know if any of this is legal or not.According to military law he can file against me anytime even though he is overseas but i can not file on him. can you help me?
