What is the name of your state? North Carolina
My cousin just recently moved from Washington State to North Carolina. Where her husband is in the ARMY the military paid for her move. The one company came and loaded all of her belongings that she was bringing with her to NC into 2 crates. That company then tranfered those crates to another company who then transfered them to a warehouse. The warehouse guy signed the slip saying he received 2 crates. My cousin called yesterday and they told her, (Such and Such) Signed for TWO crates but, in fact we only received ONE crate. Now, they cannot find the second crate with all of her belongings in it. Is there anything that she can do to pursue this? Since the company signed for TWO knowing that there was only ONE does that make them liable for the lost crate? Or should she call the JAG and have them look into it? She doesn't really care about the material things in those crates because all of that can be replaced but she has 6 years worth of pictures of her children in there that are irreplaceable. Any advice would be helpful, thanks!
