I looking very seriously at starting a career in the military (air force) comming in as an officer. About four and a half years ago (age 19, still in high school) I recieved defer adjudication for petty theft (shop lifting). I know that when they interview me they are going to ask if I have any law infractions. Since I recieved defer adjudication, am I allowed to say No? and if I can't say "no" will this disqualify me from becomming an officer? I currently reside in Virginia but this minor infraction happened in Texas in April '01.

Q: Since I recieved defer adjudication, am I allowed to say No?

A: If they ask if you have ever been arrested, you have to say yes.
