Minor bump - Please help

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas.

A car was parked in an apartment complex next to the mailboxes. I believe the driver stopped there to get mail and so did I. I parked my car right behind him but as I was checking my phone for messages I heard a bump.

What I am not sure of is if the driver in front of me reversed his car to bump mine accidently or my car was in neutral.?As far as I know it was parked but I could be wrong.

We both got out of the car and I just said sorry to the driver and driver seem to be ok with this. I checked his back of the car and there was no damage, he was not too interested in checking for his car if there was any damage. No damage on my side either so maybe he did back up to my car since he was not so concerned? None of us brought up the insurance paper conversation. I asked him 'If everything was ok?' He said that it was not a problem. He went back to his car and drove away. I stayed there for couple minutes to see if he would comeback but he did not. Maybe he got my license plate #, who knows.

What can happen next? I might get something in the mail? Should I call my insurance company now?

Seems kind of odd that you have no idea who hit whom.

In any event, why are you so worried about nothing?

Sue you for what?

If it bothers you that much report it to your insurance company and be done with it.

Sue me because he thinks that I ran into him and he may be right? What if he calls his insurance company?

If I call my insurance company then I could be risking my insurance rates going up? Would there be a claim?

So what will my insurance company do with the information that I provide to them?

What if he called his insurance company after he got home?
I'd do nothing unless and until this guy or his insurance contacts you about a claim being filed.

The only thing calling your insurance company now will do is to put them on notice for nothing. There is nothing to worry about until there is something to worry about.
