What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I was at the mall today, with friends. I have the nasty habit of smoking, (It's bad, I'm aware. It's rather hard to quit aswell.)
We decided to smoke, and as we were finishing a patrol car came up behind us. We followed their instructions, I consented to search and handed over my cigarettes, without their asking. Me and my 2 friends were cited. I was told I would have to contact a court. What can I expect? I admitted to this, I respected the officers, (did remember my yes sirs, and no sirs.) This is my first offense, I have no priors. The officer said I would more than likely be asked to attend a class on the use of tobacco products, which he claimed would be no fun at all. I do hope for this, because I do need help with stopping. I've smoked for a couple months now, and I don't want to anymore. I just don't have the willpower to stop smoking cold turkey. What can I expect? I'm aware of a fine, but what price range would it be? Thanks for any help and responses, also, any of you quit smoking cold turkey? Could you tell me how you managed?

Expect to be fined, anywhere from $25.00-$200 and/or mandatory (court ordered) drug/tobacco awareness classes depending on how they see the case. This is just speculation seeing I'm no legal expert but people I know have been in similar positions. I'm not guaranteeing this will happen but since you were cited, expect a fine and most likely the classes too.
