Hey I'm 17 years old from Michigan. A few weeks ago I was charged with an MIP on a cigar when i was pulled over as i was getting a ride home from someone i didn't really know. When we got pulled over the girl didn't have her ID on her so we all were asked to step out of the vehicle and they asked to search us and I did not want any problems so I told the officer I had the cigar and gave it to him without any problems.

This is my first MIP offense but my second time I've had to go to court. I just want to know what I can do to get the least punishment possible I do not want this on my record and I don't really have money to pay for the fines. Any help would be very much appreciated.
