My daughter is 16 years old and my granddaughter is 18 months. The father is 19. Throughout the pregnancy and first 3 months following all 3 lived in my home. I paid all the expenses. The father had emerg. surgery and I feel ill also. It was agreed they would all 3 move to the paternal grandparents home where they remain today. My daughter is about to turn 17 years of age. She has remained in school and is about to graduate a year early and begin college. We have learned that the paternal grandparents are planning to try to push my daughter to sign managing conservatorship documents immediately following her 17th birthday. Thier lawyer advised she would no longer be protected by her father and myself due to legal adulthood by that time. The father does not work and my daughter has had a few rinky dink jobs. If she refuses they are preparing to go to court. Both my daughter and the father have expierimented with various drugs socially with peers. Never in the home and never around the baby. My daughter has excellent grades. The paternal grandparents will at that time, request a strand drug test for both parents. When all 3 were living in my home, my daughter was the main care provider for the baby, I would help or guide. After the move the paternal g.mother, who is extemely maternal ,kinda "took over" and "pushed" my daughter out of the way. What are the rights of minor parents in the case. Can grandparents win in this situation and what can we do to prevent it from happening?
