I can't find the old thread from the woman whose daughter sought and received treatment at a clinic in Flordia while the woman was on vacation. Anyway, recently this issue came up in my practice area and I learned the most direct answer to the woman's question and want to share it with those who answer in this section of the forum and those who read this section.

A physician who in good faith believes the stated age of 18 or older and provides medical care to a minor is immune from liability for treating the minor without parental consent.

Is that an actual law or case law I wonder? State or fed?
Her reference would have to be to a state law as each state is allowed to make their own laws an example of which is that the age of consent may different from the age of majority, which may also differ from state to state.
