What is the name of your state? TX

I live in Houston Texas and my child is zoned to attend a 90%+ low-income hispanic school. I have attempted to transfer to another schools but all the schools in the district that are more diverse in population have been capped. Is there any law that will support me moving my child to a different school?

ah...how is the school as far as academics ?
It might have a good reputation for education, good teachers, curriculum....

Otherwise, how about private school ?

The school just received a "recognized" status. However, I have spoken with many students who do attend the school and they tell me it is a very rough school and they are even afraid to attend.

If there was no way to enroll in a different district
(?can the child reside with grandparents for the mandatory minimum time allowed for enrollment in their district ?)
... then, I'd start checking out private schools.

I guess you always have the option of home schooling, but that's a hard task ...
