What is the name of your state? Florida
Who is respnsible for the court costs for a minor. My nephew( who I now have long term custody of) was charged by his mother with theft. He stole her perscription drugs and hid them in the sofa. I will also add that he has been removed from her custody because she was convicted of drug charges and her husband(the step Dad)was charged with physical abuse of him. DCF removed him from the house and placed him with me. He was sentenced to probation until he turned 19 or until he met the requirements of the probation. he has met all the requirements and was released from the supervision of the courts. He was 15 when convicted. The only thing remaining is the restitution of the court costs. he doesn't have $400. and I feel i should not have to pay for it. He was not in my custody when he committed the crime or when he was convicted. He has stayed clean and is a great kid with me. I think his parents should have to pay the costs. They do not pay for anything. I pay his way completely. I have no problem with that part of it.
