Me and 5 other freinds were camping on public lands. We were woke up one morning by a police officer who claimed to be searching for some missing people. He then proceeded to walk over to our cooler and found beer. We were all then given MIP's.

Do I have any defense here? The cooler was opened without consent. We were given no alchohol test and had no alchohol in our hands or in our tents.

Hire an attorney & argue the search was illegal -- no consent & there was no way a missing person could have been in the cooler. You can also argue that the beer wasn't yours; you were drinking Pepsi.
