I live in Montana, in an extremely small town. While visiting a friend from work, a search warrant was served to him. I RAN!!! Out the back door I went! The law caughht up to me later that night and took me to jail. My rights were not read to me for 70 hours, they interogated me during this time, they wouldn't tell me any charge that was being filed, and refused to allow me to make a phone call to obtain legal council, or even contact my family. My wife was fighting for me on the outside and they lied to her saying I wasn't being questioned and wouldn't tell her what I had been arrested for. This went on for 3 days! I did not have anything to do with my friends troubles but ran because of past wrong doings by the police department in this area. No reason to trust them even if you are completely innocent. I was finally charged with obstruction of justice (a misdimeanor) only after hours of interogation and threats of 5 felonies. Were my rights violated? and what can I do? (without spending an arm and a leg to save my name) If found guilty, I can serve up to 6 months in jail!

My response:
All you had to do, with each question they asked, is keep repeating: "I want to speak to an attorney."
Now, you'll need to hire an attorney, or at your arraignment, have an attorney assigned to you. If you did say anything during the interrogation(s), they will use it against you, unless you can somehow prove they never Mirandized you.
Should have never run.
