I was charged with one count of misdemeanor retail theft in IL. I took a processor out of a computer at the store i formerly worked at. When confronted i wrote a written confession to the deed, and returned the CPU in perfect condition. I am intending to plead guilty at trial, which is coming up. What kind of punishment can i expect, being that i fully co-operated with the authorities and store, and have a spotless record prior to this...i am 19.

My response:
Ah, yes. Those Athlon's are a big temptation, aren't they? First offense, you're not going to be spending any time with "Bubba." You will get a big fine, and you will get big-time community service hours and you will get up to a years' probation. Oh, and you will be paying all court costs and fees. After you add it all up, that comes out to about . . . Wow ! About 3X the cost of that Athlon !! You can take the tape off your fingers now.
