Hi everyone! my name is Jim and I'd like to know if anyone has had a similar situation that I've been going through.......
Well here goes, I'm or rather I was a single parent raising my sons for approximately 9 years and I started dating a woman with no children and a desire to have her own, no sooner we started dating she was with child anyway she started showing signs of having nothing to do with my sons ;ie never wanting to do stuff together as a family mentioning that "everything is your boys"...etc... anyway to make an extremely long story short Sarah Abigael Vazquez was born. I'M IN LOVE WITH MY DAUGHTER everything about my little girl is perfect,I'd do anything for her!!! well here's the problem the situation btwn mom and I has become unstable and I'm afraid she might go back to her country{Haiti}, I mean we've gotten into verbal arguments that are not good and she's been saving a little nest egg that I believe she's gonna use to leave, move out or try to do harm, like trying to take our apartment which I've sweated to put together with the money I've made ,my furniture and the Roof over our heads..Please ...someone advise me??!!?? :(

You need to be proactive and file for custody/visitation. Once she is gone, it will be very difficult and expensive to try and get the child back.

Not to hijack this poster's thread...but has anyone else noticed (or is it just my computer) the on recent post's the first response is "funky"?

In any case. I disagree somewhat with the advice that has been given so far. I do think that dad need to be observant and "prepared"...but mom's reactions right now could be due to "nesting" and due to hormones running amok. The odds of her planning on returning to Haiti are really pretty slim (think about it?)....and any precipitious actions on his part could simply destroy a relationship that is going through some normal "pangs" after the birth of a baby.

He need to be TALKING to mom...talking when she isn't stressed. I can't imagine that she would even consider going back to Haiti unless she believes that she is about to get "dumped".

If talking doesn't work then yes...he should take action...but he does need to talk to her....and I mean truly TALKING.
