I offer a online marketing service for horse owners. For people who do not have a computer, know how or lack time to place ads and reply to initial inquiries themselves. 100's of horses have sold as a result of my marketing.
I had a buyer recently go around me, by calling the horses reg. association and getting a sellers info. They made a deal, and I was out of the loop, no biggie. BUT now the seller refused to sell him the horse and gave him his money back...he is ticked and of course threatening to sue etc. The details of the transaction are a mess, and if he had been patient and gone through me I would have provided he and the seller with a legal contract that would have prevented any issue. They had no contract at all.
Now the buyer is sending me threatening emails, and posting on my guestbook and message forums. Saying I sold him a horse and took him money and refused to give him the horse. He states that I am a scammer and committed Interstate fraud. I have reminded him in two phone calls (he called me) that HE went around me, and the deal is between he and the seller. He still continues to slander my business and personal name. He sent emails to the Town DA, chamber of commerece and others using my business and personal name and stating that I defrauded him. And was being sued for Malice/fraud.
I have ignored him to this point, but my patience is wearing thin. Do I have a case for slander, lible? What kind of case would this be and how do I proceed.
