What is the name of your state?MD I was quoted 1,566$ to repair the motor in my boat. When I went to pick it up the bill was 5,636$. The dealer performed work that was unauthorized and replaced parts that I didn't ask to be replaced. I've managed to get them to reduce the bill to 3,108$. Is there any legal action possible? Should I settle for this price?

There was no quote price in writing just that they were to call with an estimate. The only call was for the 1,566$. Never got any other calls.

Advise the company that you are going to turn them in to the Better Business Bureau and place a complaint with the Attorney's General Office.

Request that they put your boat back the way it was, meaning, put the old parts back on your engine. And or stick to the original estimate, which would mean to just replace the parts that are on the estimate. Granted you might be looking at another problem when the engine won't run afterwards.
