I was awarded custody of my 2 children in a divorce action in Calif. in 1959. My ex-husband took them and left the State. I did not know where they were. I found out where they were in 1980. They were than 25yrs old and 24yrs old. They have not responded to any communications that I have made trying to reestablish contact with them. Can I file a Legal Tort and sue him for emoitional suffering, just to let him know that before I die, that he must acknowledge thru the courts that he did wrong. It may help the grown adults that these children now are to help ease some of the pain they also have suffered. They were told that the step-mother was their Mother and they found out at the ages of 14 and 15, when he separated from the step-mom. I have been denied my legal rights all these years. I can not afford an attorney. He has been in Utah with these children since leaving California. He is still in Utah and I am in Oklahoma. I still do not know where they are. I find them and then he leaves again.
