i really need help. been going through the ugliest divorce in history for almost two years. i have several questions.
1. is there a time limit on divorce in missouri? the judge took 6 1/2 months to make a decree after the last court date.causing major emotional and financial distress on my part.the divorce has been going on for 22 months.and there is minimal property to divide.
2.what are the laws concerning premarital property? i have a car i built when i was 13,(before marriage)now i have to pay her for it? (she put it in her name knowing a divorce was coming). but i have proof i had it long before i had her.
3.the court awarded her property that doesn't even exist, on her testimony. i would have to sell everything i was awarded to raise approx. 15% of what i am ordered to pay. and she has a much better job than i do
4.when the divorce firststarted, i offered to leave her the house and all the equity (approx $150,000.00) and two cars, only so i could take three cars (i built, approx value 15,000 total) and my tools, and for her to leave me alone forever. and to this she responded"i'll take everything,no matter how long it takes or what it costs" well now she has aquired a second motgage on the house, gotten loans on my sons cars, atc. for legal fees/attorney's fees. and the court has ordered me to pay her attorney's fees because the divorce is taking so long. what can i do?at first i was content on having nothing , but now the court has ordered me to pay several hundred thousands of dollars to her for property that doesn't exist.as her father and brother-in-law blatently lied in their testimony, about property i don't even have.
**any help would be very much appreciated**
please include reference numbers(i.e. chapter number, statute etc. so i can find it) so i can use this advise
thanks again.. steve morley
