I'm in Georgia USA. I've been renting the same place for 15 years. I recently purchased land of my own and my landlord offered me the mobile home I've been renting due to he doesn't want to deal with it after I leave. I haven't saved enough to move yet. I've asked him to sign the title over to me, but he's resisting. I can't legally move it without that title in my name. I've offered him money as well. I've got to get the ball rolling. He's stated that if I, and the home aren't gone within the next 3 months, he wants the home back. What are my options, if any, legally to bind this to where he can't take the home back?

Time is money, and I'm going to suggest you borrow some money to arrange moving the home on a time line more favorable to the current owner.

A lawyer to draft documents that ensure you would be screwed might be a good use of some money too.

Talked to a lawyer. Basically not much I can do but try to negotiate more favorable terms. Thanks for the input.

Is there a current tax decal on mobile? IF not...perhaps LL forgot to pay taxes ...be careful.....and there is a hefty fine to move wo decal.

You do have another choice which is to find even a used home that needs to be moved , buy it , have it moved , sited and tell this current LL when you move out that you already have a home sited at your property and he will have to make his own arrangements for his home.
