hi, i'm from kentucky. my ex husband and i have joint custody of our son with me being the primary custodian. I agreed to an order that he doesn't have to pay child support, but he does have to keep insurance on our son. Is there anything that i can do to change that order, as far as getting child support again? he pays me $40 a week now but doesn't have to. Any suggestions?

You can always try to file to have it modified but you will probably have to show why you have changed your mind. Changes in circumstances. I don't know how they would rule though.

Let me understand:

The guy pays you $160.00/mo now, voluntarily, following an agreement between the two of you that he pays nothing, and you want to take him back in for modification.

There's something more to the story I suspect?

With so little information one finds motive suspect.

If there is a real need present, and as it appears he has already demonstrated willingness to support, have you considered disussing your need with him first to allow a possible positive response on his part?
